Paul Goodale Returns as CEDA Conference Host

Internationally renowned restaurateur and designer Paul Goodale is returning for a third year to host the CEDA Conference Networking/Cedabond Dinner, Gala Dinner and Grand Prix Awards at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Heythrop Park on 30 and 31 March. A very busy man, Paul works extensively in the Middle East through his London-based consultancy practice Epicurean Holdings, including a partnership with luxury retailer Galeries Lafayette. Epicurean will open five bespoke hospitality concepts in Qatar during 2017. CEDA chooses gala host

Restaurateur Paul Goodale is to host the 2016 CEDA Conference Gala Dinner and Grand Prix Awards at the St George’s Park Hilton, Burton upon Trent on 15 April. Tesco ends Fred’s Food Construction format

Tesco has parted ways with Fred’s Food Construction, the deli-diner concept led by Paul Goodale, former director of restaurants at Harrods. Both Fred’s sites in the Tesco Express in Philpot Lane and at the Tesco Extra in Osterley closed over the weekend. It is understood that Tesco and the concept’s co-founder Daniel Gestetner, founder of global frozen yoghurt brand Yoomoo, have transferred their shares in Fred’s to Goodale, who is thought to be exploring new investment and expansion opportunities for the format. The move comes as CEO Dave Lewis leads a strategy to concentrate on Tesco’s core offer. Goodale said: “I’ve been delighted with the response to Fred’s since launch. Sheridan & Co designs Tesco diner

Tesco’s new diner-style restaurant, Fred’s Food Construction, has been developed by design agency Sheridan & Co. The first branch of the diner has opened in Tesco’s Osterley branch in South West London. It was developed by entrepreneurs Daniel Gestetner and Paul Goodale, with backing from the supermarket giant.
